The SeaFair

Floating amid the intercostal waterways of the East Coast, from Miami to New York and Boston, is the bright new jewel of both the yachting and art world, The SeaFair. Designed specifically for exhibiting fine arts, jewelry, fashion and technology, this presents a new and impressive take on the idea of luxury.

While the concept of a traveling collection is widely practiced and accepted among the major art fields, either museum exhibits, jewelry or fashions shows, and the newest technology on display at a convention; The SeaFair takes this to a new level of opulence. While offering both a spaces to eat, lounge and observe both the art within the boat and the splendor of nature and the yacht, the entire experience is a visual delight.

While being novel in its approach to presenting various forms of art, there is also the limited availability of where the yacht is able to travel is somewhat disappointing to those who live inland. In the 2009 calendar year The SeaFair will be traveling up and down the east coast, making various spots between February and November, spending the time at various large ports of call. Their web site features the various dates and where The SeaFair can be found.

With art being a shifting medium and what is considered art varies based on several factors, the idea of a yacht as a floating art gallery with food and beverages available seems a new and creative way to experience art, but as with many higher forms of art it tends to be catered to those who are affluent and have a base understanding of art and its many forms as well as the ability to appreciate the form and lines of the yacht as well as the art within the exhibits. For this unique form of presentation, the yacht is free to those who wish to visit, and people are allowed to roam the decks and purchase the art.  The SeaFair presents art, a yacht, jewelry, technology and food, which places it high on the things to see this summer list.
